Unpaid Tax Amnesty

We know what happens when we don't pay our income taxes. We get hefty fines and can even go to jail. We can lose our homes, our other property, and even our freedom. But what happens to the tens of millions of illegals who don't pay income taxes?

Under the new Senate bill, they get rewarded with an Amnesty. The new bill says they only pay back taxes (no fines) for the last three years. The rest of years of withheld state and federal income taxes are free. How many of us would like that kind of sweet deal? Just imagine: You could have kept all those taxes you paid from 2003 and earlier and spend it on other things. Oh, sorry, you're a citizen: Then you go to jail if you held out.

Once again, first we reward them for breaking our immigration laws, then we reward them for breaking our tax laws. Encourage the tax cheats, that's the message the Senate is sending. Good work, guys.

Remember: This back tax Amnesty only applies to illegal immigrants. If you're a citizen with an outstanding tax bill, you're S.O.L.

The ironic part of the bill is that the Democrats support it most. That's right, the same people that complained about the tax cuts costing the government too much money suddenly support tax forgiveness for tens of millions of tax cheats. Explain that flip flop.

And the Republicans who claim to be for law and order are rewarding those who broke both our Immigration laws and our tax laws. That's what America needs alright, more criminals and cheats. We're "building a bridge into the twenty-first century." (Too bad we're using rotten lumber.)

Shame!
