Kurt first encountered Chick tracts at Auburn University in 1980. While there, he also saw Campus Crusade for Christ, The Maranatha House, Brother Jed & Sister Sidney, and many other Southern Bible Belt traditions. Kurt's first Chick tract was This Was Your Life. Years later, he discovered that Chick had published many more titles and thus, the collector was born. Kurt completed his English Bachelor of Arts at Auburn with a double minor in Philosophy in 1984. He studied English abroad at Oxford University in 1983. He completed the Mass Media Institute at Stanford University in 1988. He holds a Masters of Arts in Communications from Auburn (1991) and a Masters of Fine Arts in Film from the Asolo Conservatory, Florida State University (1993). Kurt is an adjunt professor of English. He's also a writer, short film maker, web page designer, and collectibles manufacturer. His other hobbies include card collecting, old time radio shows, and of course-- collecting CHICKS!
