Your Christian Duty?

One of the more insidious ploys by those who want to legalize illegal aliens is the claim that it's "the Christian thing to do". This shows how low these people can go to win a political fight. They will bend any truth-- even the Bible-- for their political purposes.

Their argument goes something like this: The illegals are just here to feed their families, and to deny them citizenship is to deny them rights. If we were really good Christians, we would forgive the fact they got here illegally and welcome them with open arms.

But those pesky facts tell a different story. Research shows the vast majority of illegal immigrants already had jobs in Mexico, but left them to come here and make more and get ahead of their countrymen. In other words, it wasn't survival to encouraged them to come here illegally, but greed.

Secondly, the only rights that are being abused here are the rights of American Citizens who are paying the bills but being ignored. Poll after poll shows we want our borders defended and illegal immigration stopped, but the people we elected to enforce those laws encourage more crimes by letting the illegals come here by the tens of millions, and do nothing but reward it.

Bank robbers need money. Muggers need money. House burglars need money. Letting them keep what they steal and forgiving their crimes may seem like a nice thing to do, but it isn't Christian. It's stupid. The Bible says we should give Caesar that which is his, in other words, honor the laws and obey them. The ones not doing their Christian duty in this case is the illegals.

Oh, and of course, another group that is not being Christian are those who suggest it is Christian to break the law. That's called lying, and it's specifically condemned in the Bible (just check the Ten Commandments).
