Chick Tracts-A Powerful Weapon in the Public Schools From Your Spiritual Arsenal

One of the greatest tools in my spiritual arsenal is Chick tracts. As an evangelist, I have used Chick tracts in my personal witnessing as well as in my church crusades during my 14 years of ministry. Long before my preaching ministry in churches, t.v. and radio, the Lord gave me the privilege of witnessing for Christ in my public high school. I daily pray for Jack Chick, and praise God for his faithfulness to our Lord in providing Bible believers one of the most powerful witnessing tools ever made!

Our school newspaper sold ads for various products and services, and did not restrict what could be advertised. I knew that this would be a great witnessing opportunity! I placed an ad in the shape of a coupon, and it included my photograph. It stated that I would give a "free gift" to everyone who redeemed the coupon. All the students would have to do was clip out the ad, recognize me from the picture, and "redeem" it when they handed it to me. The "free gift" was...you guessed it, CHICK TRACTS! The cafeteria during the lunch hour was filled with students reading Chick tracts and receiving the Gospel of Jesus Christ, all without a sermon or church service. Most significant was the fact that I was witnessing to fellow students without being disruptive or violating the laws. Since I was a student and not a state-paid teacher, I had no restrictions on what I could say or what literature I chose to give away.

When I used "The Godfathers" as a subject for discussion back in high school during those days, the teachers were in an uproar! They tried to silence me! However, in the United States of America, we still have a First Amendment which guarantees us the freedom of speech and religion. I defied my teachers, and proclaimed the Gospel found in these tracts. I was compelled to "obey God rather than men"-(Acts 5:29). "I even led someone to the Lord after using the Crusader's comic "The Gift."

God help the Bible believers when the day arrives when the laws change. You and I will be branded "bigots," "intolerant," and "propagandists of hate literature." The saving message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is found in Chick tracts, and this arsenal of spiritual warfare is in your hands! Students and other fellow soul winners, TAKE COURAGE! God's Word will not return void! (Isaiah 55:11)
